Lungs4Life Foundation Inc. was created in April of 2015 to raise funds for lung cancer research while raising awareness about lung cancer. Tim and Leah Bochnicek of Omaha were motivated to create this foundation for very personal reasons; Leah was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer in 2013, even though she never smoked a day in her life. It soon became apparent to them that there is a stigma associated with Lung Cancer which has affected the public’s attitude toward lung cancer and has decreased Government funding for research.

Our hope is to raise awareness that non-smokers CAN get lung cancer too. We have partnered with the new Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center being built on the UNMC campus in Omaha. The funds we raise are being donated to the cancer center specifically for lung cancer research right here in the state of Nebraska. Please continue to explore this website to learn more about Leah’s story and how you can help change the future of lung cancer for good.
